Practice
I am a multidisciplinary theatre-maker, producer, director and dramaturg with over twenty years’ experience creating, producing & facilitating performance across Yorkshire and the wider UK.
As founder and Artistic Director of Theatre Led Arts CIC (2008), I have built a sustained practice supporting young artists through training, performance and creative development, while also creating and producing my own original work. Alongside this work, I have developed experience as a playwright, director and educator, leading projects that place collaboration, accessibility and audience engagement at their centre.
Throughout my career I have worked across both professional and community contexts, drawing on experience from theatre, performance training and arts leadership. More recently, my Master’s studies in Dramaturgy at Leeds Conservatoire have enabled me to critically examine my own practice and explore the role of dramaturgy beyond text development, particularly in relation to producing, programming and audience experience.
My development has been shaped through conversations and mentorship with leading practitioners including Ben Power, former Associate Director of the National Theatre, as well as through engagement with artists, producers and organisations working across theatre, performance and cultural programming.
I am now at a pivotal stage in my career. Having established a long-standing practice as a theatre-maker and creative leader, I am seeking to deepen my understanding of dramaturgical producing, programming and audience-centred practice in order to expand the scale, ambition and impact of my future work.
